INTO THE MUSIC

POLKA! The soundtrack to your favorite Oktoberfest celebration!

INTO THE MUSIC Season 3 Episode 51

Text us about this show.

It's autumn in Wisconsin so that means it's time to don the lederhosen, get to your favorite Oktoberfest celebration, and get your polka on! Our panelists include Polka Time radio show host DJ Shotski, historian Frank Anderson, and former Alvin Styczynski bassist Ike Arumba who are all here for a fun discussion all about polka music and we guarantee that it's a fun one. We do a deep dive into Wisconsin's polka history, its brightest stars (Dick Rodgers, Alvin Styczynski, Romy Gosz, Roger Bright), its different sub-genres, and what the future might hold for this time honored music.

As if this wasn't enough, the world record for the largest polka dance was broken this weekend with music provided by DJ Shotski herself! See it here!
