We're talking surf music with Deven Berryhill, leader and guitarist for San Diego's award winning surf band, The Tourmaliners. Their latest album, Surfidia, is an incredible melting pot of traditional surf (you know, waves and spies) combined with some southwestern flavor, flamenco rhythms, and a little sci-fi thrown in for good measure. The icing on the cake is that it won Best Rock Album of the Year in the 2023 San Diego Music Awards! Deven gives us the inside scoop on the album along with a bit about not only The Tourmaliners, but another surf band he plays guitar for that you might be familiar with—The Surfaris. We're topping this episode off with not one but TWO great cuts from Surfidia!
